As part of TxDOT’s widening project, traffic on Preston Road will be shifted into different lanes between Eldorado Parkway and US 380 on Thursday, October 15. Specifically, southbound traffic will be shifted onto the shoulder and northbound traffic will be shifted onto the former southbound lane. This will allow the existing northbound lane to be removed and for construction to begin on the new northbound lanes. Traffic will remain in this configuration for approximately 8 months.
Motorists are urged to use caution in the area as people become accustomed to the new traffic pattern.
