Road Closure
Road Closures Friday night, September 23
These closures will start at 9:00 p.m. on Friday night and will reopen by 7:00 a.m. on Saturday morning, September 24.
The northbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and Gaylord Parkway in Frisco. Northbound traffic on the Dallas North Tollway will be diverted onto the northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at Headquarters Drive and will be able to re-enter the Tollway at Gaylord Parkway.
The southbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Gaylord Parkway in Frisco and Headquarters Drive in Plano. Southbound traffic will be diverted onto the southbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at Gaylord Parkway and will be able to re-enter the DNT at Headquarters Drive.
Road Closures Saturday night, September 24
These closures will start at 11:00 p.m. on Saturday night. The southbound DNT will reopen by 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning, September 25, but the northbound DNT will remain closed on Sunday.

These closures will start at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday morning and will reopen by 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, September 26.
The northbound Dallas North Tollway main lanes will be closed between Headquarters Drive in Plano and Gaylord Parkway in Frisco. Northbound traffic on the Dallas North Tollway will be diverted onto the northbound Dallas Parkway frontage road at Headquarters Drive and will be able to re-enter the Tollway at Gaylord Parkway.
The southwest-bound Sam Rayburn Tollway main lanes will be closed between Parkwood Boulevard and Legacy Drive. Southwest-bound traffic on the SRT will be diverted onto the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road at Parkwood Boulevard and will be able to reenter the SRT at Legacy Drive.
These road closures are part of NTTA's interchange construction project. Motorists are urged to use caution in the construction zone and to choose an alternate route in advance.

NCAA Division I Football Championship Set for Saturday, January 7
Eastern Washington beat Delaware last year in the first game played at
Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee
has announced that the 2012 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game
will be played at noon on Saturday Jan. 7 at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco,
Texas.
The game will be played at the 23,500-seat venue in the suburan North
Dallas community, which hosted the championship game for the first time
last season after being awarded a three-year contract to host the title
game in 2010. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
The championship game, hosted by the locally based Southland Conference,
the City of Frisco and the Hunt Sports Group, is the culmination of a
20-team championship bracket.
The Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) is comprised of the
conferences and institutions that compete in the NCAA Division I Football
Championship – Big Sky, Big South, Colonial Athletic Association,
Mid-Eastern Athletic, Missouri Valley Football, Northeast, Ohio Valley,
Patriot League, Southern and the Southland. The Ivy League and
Southwestern Athletic Conference are in the FCS as well, but neither
chooses to participate in the football championship.
The FCS embodies a tradition of excellence through high level competition,
student-athlete character and sportsmanship throughout the regular season
and the championship experience.
In 2011, the first at Pizza Hut Park, Eastern Washington rallied from a
19-0 third quarter deficit to beat Delaware 20-19 to win the national
championship

Gary Burns Drive Now Open
(July 20, 2011) Gary Burns Drive, which had been closed for reconstruction, was opened to traffic today, July 20. Traffic can again travel on Gary Burns Drive between Main Street and Preston Road, and the improved road provides another access point to the new Walmart.
Gary Burns Drive has been widened and now has additional turn lanes at its intersection with Preston Road.
Motorists are urged to use caution in this area as people become accustomed to the new traffic patterns at the intersection of Preston Road and Gary Burns Drive.

DNT Closures
The northbound and southbound Dallas Parkway frontage roads will be closed between Gaylord Parkway and SH 121 this weekend. The frontage roads will close at 10:00 p.m. Friday night, June 17, and remain closed throughout the weekend, June 18-19. They will reopen at 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, June 20. NTTA has provided the attached map of this closure and the detour routes.
Northbound Dallas Parkway will be closed between the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road and the northbound DNT exit ramp to Gaylord Parkway. (The exit ramp to Gaylord Parkway will not be closed.) During this closure, northbound traffic on Dallas Parkway will be diverted onto the northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road to Parkwood Boulevard to continue their journey north. Detour signs will be posted.
Southbound Dallas Parkway will be closed between Gaylord Parkway and the northeast-bound SH 121 frontage road. During this closure, all southbound traffic will be directed to turn left onto Gaylord Parkway and use Parkwood Boulevard as a detour. Southbound traffic on the Dallas North Tollway will not be able to exit to SH 121 and should plan to use Legacy Drive or Parkwood Boulevard as an alternative route. Residents of Stonebriar Creek Estates will need to use their entrance on Legacy Drive. Customers of David McDavid Honda should approach the dealership using the southwest-bound SH 121 frontage road.

Frisco Memorial Day Event
(May 26, 2011) A vintage, military helicopter display and presentation of a memorial wreath are among the highlights of a Memorial Day Ceremony to be held on Monday, May 30 at 9 a.m. at the city’s war memorial at Frisco Commons Park, 8000 McKinney Road.
The keynote speaker will be Frisco resident Col. Grady Venable, USAF Retired. Boy Scout Troop 298 will present the colors. Residents will also enjoy patriotic performances by the Frisco Chorale and the Frisco Community Band. Military vehicles will also be on display, as well.
Organizers are encouraging observers to bring their lawn chairs or blankets for seating. The event is free and open to the public.
The event is sponsored by the City of Frisco, the Frisco VFW Post 2848 and the Frisco Garden Club. Other participants are the Frisco Rotary Club and Civil Air Patrol Cadets.
